This workshop is an ideal introduction or refresher course for those who may not have had the opportunity to work on camera. How will it work? We will deal with the technical aspects of acting for screen; hitting marks, eye-lines, what questions to ask, then branching into non-verbal communication exercises to build camera confidence. The afternoon session will be text-based; bringing the techniques learnt in the morning into practice and learning how to give truthful performances within the technical confines of the medium. Throughout the session participants will be able to watch themselves in playback in order to objectively analyse their screen performances. What do you get out of it? By the end of the day actors will not only have the confidence to work and trust their instincts within the technical aspects of screen acting and gain experience in bringing a script to life on camera but also they will begin to enjoy the responsibility of the close-up. |
